Gangotri - Origin of Holy Ganges

Gangotri is a small town and a Nagar Panchayat in Uttarakashi district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Gangotri is around 105 KM from Uttarakashi. Gangotri is accessible by road from Uttarakashi. It is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi. It is on the Greater Himalayan Range, at a height of 3,415 m.
