Charan Paduka

This place is situated at an altitude of 3380 feet above sea level . As Goddess arrived at this place, she looked back and then she saw the demon ‘Bhairavnath’ following her. Since goddess halted at this place for a while the footprints of the Goddess Vaishnodevi happens to be at this place and hence the name ‘Charan Paduka’ became popular. This Place is about 1.5 kms from ‘Banganga’. While visiting Vaishnodevi pilgrimage, this is the second place to have a break, where in some refreshment parlors tea stalls etc. are also available there.

Adheekumari and Garbhajuun - Gupha

This place is situated at an altitude of 4800 feet at a distance of 4.5 kms from Charanpaduka. After traveling a long distance, Vaishnavdevi arrived at this place and saw a woman doing penance. Goddess has shown this woman her effulgence and told her that I am desiring to rest in this place for some time. In case anybody enquires about my whereabouts, do not tell. Thus telling to the woman, Goddess went in to the cave and started meditating for nearly 9 months as any child stays in the womb of her mother. In the meanwhile, Bhairavnath desperately searching for the Goddess arrives at this place and asks the women if she has seen any teenager girl coming that side. Hearing thus from the demon, the woman replies-"Hey Bhairav !, Do not under estimate the girl to whom you are looking for. She has been the virgin ever since the beginning of the creation and She is the mightiest force". At this (Adhee kumari) place, there is a temple on the name of Adhee Kumari (Eternal Virgin). There are various arrangements for the night halt for the pilgrims. Everything is available here on payment. One can get the bedding, quilt, etc. There are many refreshment stalls and nice vegetarian hotels available.
