HATHEE MATHA
Beginning from Adhee kumari, the journey
further is a bit difficult. A steep climbing begins from here, which in other
words is like an elephant’s face, that's why this place is called Hathee Matha
(Head of Elephant). The distance from Adhee kumari to this place is about 2.5
kms and is at an altitude of 6,500 feet above sea level. If one does not want
to strain and wants to avoid this difficult terrain, then it is better to
follow the other route, which is long route but an easy one.
SANJHEE CHATH
This place is at about 4.5 kms from Adheekumari
and is situated at an altitude of 7200 feet. There is a small pathway leading
to the Bhairav Mandir. Some refreshment stalls and drinking water facilities
are found around this place. Generally, people wanting to go the
Shrine of the Goddess do not go to the old Sanjhee Chath
from Hathee Matha, but proceed to the temple of Goddess
through the ‘Delhiwali Chabeel’ just because the Darshan of
Bhairav is possible while returing from the Darshan of Goddess. Thus
following this (Delhiwali Chabeel) route not only reduces the journey by 2 kms
but also avoids the difficulties of climbing. Now people started to call this
place also by the name Sanjhee Chath. There is a good hospital came up here in
due course of time. While returning from the Darshan
of Goddess one can see Bhairav.
