The All Giving Deity

Victory Goddess

This is Brajeshweri Devi who is also popularly called as Kangadewali Devi because  Her  celestial abode is at Kangada. People believe that She has an incredible influence over the haps and  happenings around area. And She  can carry out or avert the hap and happening according to her will.

Linking Road Between Jammu and Katra

Daksheswar Temple

The beautiful structure of  Daksheswar temple is situated in Kankal. This is a legendary temple built in the memory of  Bhagbati or Suttee wife of lord Shiva who had jumped in to the flames in the Yagna Kund ( kiln of  butter and vegetables oil burned during the  Hindu rituals) for some offence made to her by her  father Dakshya. And on the very place the temple is constructed to cherish the memory of past. In the month of June, July a fair takes place here every year.

Brajeswardevi Temple

The temple of  Brajesweridevi also known as  Kangdewalidevi. This is the must visit for the devotees and failing which the pilgrimage  is incomplete. This deity is worshipped for preserving the tenants from the Muslim  invaders  from Afghan and other  Islamic  countries.

Chintopurni's Pool

The legend says that when a devotee of the Goddess had turned a stone by the side of the hillock water started flowing profusely. The stone is placed in side the Chintapurni temple and the poll has been dogged on the source point of the water.

Hathi Matha

The structure of the rock is just like the fore head of an elephant. It is situated at an altitude of 6500feet from the sea level. And it is followed by Adee kumari. Bus Stand Katra

Here is the Katra but Stand from where the real journey begins. The pilgrims and tourists has to go hill atop  to have a Darshan of the  holy mother. Darshanee Darwaja

This is the famous site known as Darshanee Darwaja. here is the spot where the supernatural girl  Trikuta appeared sooner as she had vanished from Bhoomika, a nearest place. This shrine is made as a remembrance of the legend. However, while proceeding towards the Vaishnodevi shrine up hill some one must have to pass through this spot.
