Pilgrims used to stay in the houses of local people as paying guest with
the land lords which develops a feeling of oneness and create mutual love
and affection between them. And also it has been said that the locals
were hosting the devotees from far and wide free of cost with the best of their
hospitality once upon a time. Here, the Pundit (Purohit) is meets all the
requirements of the pilgrims now. That is the reason, why these pundits
used wait in the bus stand to receive the pilgrims to take to his home as and
when the people arrive for the Yatra .
There use to be night Keertan of Mataji continuously but would only
undertake the day journey. Thus the pilgrims used to rest for about two days.

discussions related to the Goddess and singing Keertans of Goddess.
Bhavan is there for accommodation and there
are 32 shelter sheds altogether under the shrine authority. Shree Mata
Vaishnodevi Shrine Board looks maintains this establishment. There are a
variety of provision made by them for the visitors and devotees. Free
staying, rented houses and the like accommodation are available there. But
