Katra destination of all the motor vehicle is 52 km away from
Jammu city and the journey takes around 2 hours. There are local
transports operating in and around the city and also to the adjoining places
from Jammu City bus station. Some tourist taxis are also available near city
bus stand. The Jammu State Road Transport
Corporation also operates buses to the adjoining states. Direct bus from
Jammu and also from Pathankot are available for
Katra. Besides this many local tourist buses runs from Pathankot and
Jammu to Katra carring the pilgrims from different part of the world. The other
convenient way to travel by road to Vaishnavdevi
is to book with any of the travel agencies conducting all India
tours along with Vaishnavdevi.
